The UNDP Environment & Energy group project, Capacity Development for Policy Makers to Address Climate Change, was developed in close consultation with UNEP and UNFCCC, which are conducting a complementary regional project, "Preparatory Meetings for Negotiators from Developing Countries on the UNFCCC Bali Road Map".
Under the UNEP/UNFCCC project, a series of regional and global workshops is being conducted to strengthen the capacity of negotiators from developing countries to participate more effectively in the critical Bali Road Map negotiations. The goal of the UNEP/UNFCCC project is to support negotiators to articulate and/or refine their national and, wherever possible, regional policy positions with regard to the specific building blocks of the Bali Roadmap and agenda items from negotiations under the Convention and the Kyoto Protocol.
