Adaptation Learning Mechanism

A knowledge sharing platform developed by UNDP in partnership with the Global Environment Facility, the UNFCCC, the World Bank, and the UNEP. The ALM is drawing from experiences on the ground, featuring tools and practical guidance to meet the needs of developing countries

Food and Agriculture Organization

Information on FAO's climate change activities: numerous publications and other media. Available in English, French and Spanish.

Gateway to the UN System's work on Climate Change

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Produces assessment reports on the state of knowledge on climate change, as well as other technical reports.

Planetcall.org

A website endorsed by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon which aims to collect 1 million signatures from youth in the final 100 days to COP15. The site also showcases the best solutions videos and encourages youth organizations to sign up and share their work and ideas.

Poverty Networks

Hosted by the UNDP International Policy Centre for Inclusive Growth. An online catalogue of Poverty Networks, which are web-based platforms that share development-related information.

The National Communications Support Programme

Funded by the Global Environment Facility and is jointly managed by UNDP and UNEP. Provides technical and policy support to Parties not included in Annex I (NAI) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) for preparing their Second (or Third) National Communications (SNCs or TNCs).

World Meteorological Organization

Promotes cooperation in the establishment of networks for making meteorological, climatological, hydrological and geophysical observations, and assists technology transfer, training and research.

UNDP Climate Change Country Profiles

Hosted by the UNDP and the School of Geography and Environment at Oxford University. Country-level studies of climate observations and multi-model projections for 52 developing countries.

United Nations Development Programme

Expanded its climate change pages and provides links to its work on adaptation, mitigation, UN-REDD, MDG Carbon Facility, and the Global Environment Facility, among others.

Aimed primarily at state legislators in the United States.

Climate Compendium

Seeks to channel, condense and consolidate the latest and best information in all fields-political, economic, scientific and legal-into a frequently updated "cyber-briefer". By providing background materials and extensive resource guides, the Climate Compendium intends to provide the best possible "starting point" for people seeking to better understand the issues related to global climate change.

Climate Program Office

Funds high-priority climate research to advance understanding of atmospheric and oceanic processes as well as climate impacts resulting from drought and other stresses. This research is conducted in most regions of the United States and at national and international scales, including in the Arctic.

Environmental Negotiation: Energy + Environment OpenCourseWare

EEOCW's mission is to strengthen energy and environment education, especially in developing countries, by freely distributing course materials and training teachers in developing countries. Climate Diplomat is an 8-person multi-stakeholder negotiation role-play that simulates the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) negotiations. The materials are based on materials prepared by the UNFCCC Secretariat and submitted by countries to the UNFCCC, observation of country negotiating positions at UNFCCC meetings, interviews with country delegates to the UNFCCC meetings and representatives of environmental non-governmental organizations, and independent research and analysis.

Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development

International legal foundation which provides legal assistance to helping vulnerable countries, communities and campaigners negotiate for fairer international environmental laws.

International Centre for Energy, Environment and Development

The ICEED provides services to national and international organisations, assisting them in developing and managing policies, programmes and projects that combat poverty. The Centre's focus is on designing market and community-based mechanisms in the delivery or rural and renewable energy services to the poor.

International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association

IPIECA's vision is of an oil and gas industry that successfully improves its operations and products to meet society's expectations for environmental and social performance. All of IPIECA's Climate Change Working Group's publications, some translated into a number of languages, can be downloaded from the IPIECA website.

Learning for Sustainability

The site highlights the people-centered realities of sustainable development, and puts collaboration, integration and information sharing at the center of development activities.
